New Blog

Well I am nearly there with the completion of the new blog and would love for you to continue to follow and be part of my blogging journey, so if you would like to join me I shall be over here (click on the image below).

If you link or follow me in any way you may need to update that information and change my blog link, otherwise it may be coming up with an error(!)
Also do feel free to join with me on twitter and pinterest. So many places these days that you can join in with people and what they are doing!
My new blog is still very much a work in progress but hey you've got to start somewhere haven't you?! I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy blogging about things. Please feel free to leave me comments on there or advice as to the look and how the blog works as I am still working everything out. So it may take someone like you looking around to notice that something isn't working or that I'm missing something in some way!
I look forward to seeing you over on the new blog x

Moving underway

Well I know that I've been a bit quiet over here lately. I've now completed my blog e-course; there was so much information to take in! I think that every student has come away with armfuls of knowledge and advice to implement and continue forward with, to be able to refer to it again and again on our own individual blogging journeys. It has been amazing.
Part of my journey with my blog is to change the look of it and how it works and is managed, and therefore I am undertaking the move from here on blogger over to wordpress. It feels like a huge thing to be doing, but one which many people have done before me, nothing like setting yourself a challenge hey?!
So that's why it's been so quiet over here the last couple of weeks, while I work behind the scenes as it were setting this and that up and sorting things out to be able to make this move. Like many of you I also have a day job so this is fitted in around that, otherwise I'm sure I'd have completed it by now! So I am hoping that many of you will continue with me on my creative blogging journey and join me over in my new home when I make the move complete! x

Getting organised

I've had a week's break and have been getting all my paperwork for bootcamp organised, so that I could concentrate on my 'blog mood board' and gain focus as to what I would like this blog to look like in appearance/layout/colour/fonts etc. and also as to the content of the blog/blog posts themselves. It's not been easy, but I think I'm getting there. I know in my minds eye what I'd like to be doing, seeing and getting from this blog and that can only be a good place to start. It may be that I even move this blog to another platform to give me more scope for how I want it to look as well. Have you done this? I would love to know of anyone's experience(s) and why you decided to do so.

You may be wondering about the picture - well these are a few plates I happened upon in a charity shop recently and as I want to focus again on handmade, recycling and reusing, I thought they fitted in quite well. That and the feeling that I've been juggling ideas (metaphorical plates?!) for a while about my blog x

One of my favourite blogs: Dispatch From LA

I know that if you're anything like me you probably have more than one favourite blog. However that said, I do have a few blogs that I perhaps favourite more than others, maybe this is because they inspire me in a different way, or a way that I need at this particular point on my creative road. These are blogs that I visit often to see what they are up to, what they've been doing/creating/sharing. Blogs whose words, views and work I am interested in reading and absorbing; learning from and being inspired by.
One of my favourite blogs is Dispatch From LA written by Mary Ann Moss.
I love her blog as she shares a mixture of bits of her life (teaching, etc.), her handmade journals and travel. The combination of her travel exploits with her journals is truly inspiring. I love that she is a keeper of experiences and memories in her journals, that she does them for her own enjoyment and benefit. She keeps travel journals, visual journals and written journals. It is also a relief that she has an attitude when working in her journals, that anything goes, there are no mistakes! Sometimes we can all be too precious with our sketchbooks/journals, thinking that they need to be perfect, when really they are our practice spaces, playgrounds for experimenting in and keeping notes/memories/thoughts as we please. Her views inspired me to journal and to be braver when working in my own journal(s) as well. I have done a couple of her creative online courses over the last few years and thoroughly enjoyed them. Her approach is fun and infectious. She teaches and shares her knowledge through written and visual ways, with easy to follow instructions and provides bags of inspiration from which your own ideas spring and evolve.
So what are your favourite blogs and why? I'd love to see. Leave me a link in the comments, who knows I may need to add them to my list of favourites too!

Well hello there!

Hello to the New Year and wishing all and sundry the very best for it too!

Well this is my first foray into the realm of blog and I find it quite strange to be typing to myself but at the same time quite therapeutic. Maybe I should have kept a diary when I was younger, hmmm....... mind you I was too busy climbing trees, ferreting in the undergrowth, drawing and sketching and generally being me to do such things!

Ahh how times have changed, well perhaps not much..... instead of a diary my "Aim" this year is to make an effort at keeping a journal/sketchbook.
I have been notoriously bad at this and think it will do me 'the world of good' for helping with new ideas and designs.
I'll post some pics soon x
