Frame or no?

I was advised recently from a buyer at a fair I was at, that I would benefit from using purse frames instead of zips on my purses. That my stitched and printed pieces would work well with them and that they would be liable to move a lot quicker i.e. sell more!

So my question is this - what do you think? frame or zip?
All comments, thoughts and opinions welcome!

I think they look great either way and its more a case of personal preference. Why not have a few of each at the next fair and gauge the reaction?

I love the frames. I only make pouches with zippers ~I wish I knew how to do those :)

It is wonderful. Love the colour combination. Personally I would pay a lot more for a purse with a frame than a zip one. That said I think there is a market for both.

Ditto to Bex's comment!

The frame does look classy and the zippered ones look a little more whimsical to me somehow, so either way they are a gorgeous purse and it's just personal preference.

i'm think i'm going against the grain here when i say i much prefer the zip style... i think they are less intrusive on your beautiful collages and emphasise the beautiful handmade quality... where as the frames just look too formal to me... but hey, that's just me... ;)

although i think Bluebell is right in saying you should try both and see which fairs better... :)

oh, and i love your collage in this one, the colours are gorgeous!

I like the frame. Check out the blog hensteethart.blogspot.com. She makes her purses using the frame, and when I saw yours, I thought immediately of her little gems. I think hers are a bit higher priced, too. I find that the finished pieces with a bit more sophistication (hence the frame) always sell better, even at a higher price. Go figure! Quality counts!

Your work is lovely, I think I would prefer a frame as it's alot easier to use when in a hurry to find some change as the queue grows impatiently behind you!!
I would use a zippered pouch for makeup when you have time to faff about looking for something.
Having said that there's room for both in my little world, so I guess I am not much help at all!

I prefer the frame but won't that make things more expensive to produce?

Just popped by to say hello. Haven't seen the zipped purses yet, but this frame one looks great. So pretty. I agree perhaps you should do some of each and see what your customers think.
Lovely to meet you. I will be back
Have a good weekend.

Think I like the frame best, but maybe you should try out both and see which one sells best.I am sure they would both be popular!

I had to jump into the mix here. I am a zipper kind of gal. Tho I must say your work looks stunning on the frame but I am drawn to small pouches with zippers or drawstrings before anything on a frame.
